Gravity Games for retro consoles

Unlike "Thrust" genre games, these are side-view games with gravity that allows you to move your ship up, down, left, and right in the air freely,
but does not allow you to rotate your ship vertically (clockwise or counterclockwise).
Although the “genre name” of this field is not specified in particular,
it is an undeniable fact that the works that fall into this field are included in the work group classified into the following categories.

Caving Missions
A group of games that advances through a cave-shaped intricate map.
The main purpose is to battle with the enemy and reach the goal.
The oldest work is the "Fort Apocalypse", which was released in 1982 on Atari 8bit hobby PCs and C64.
This category is further divided into two types depending on whether there is a penalty (death, damage, etc.) when touching the terrain.
Works without penalties (generally called "Cybernoid type") will not be dealt with on this page ("Deep Core Raider", etc.).
Of course, games without gravity are also excluded ("Aquanaut", "Cavitas", etc.).

Space Taxi
Games in which customers are picked up and transported to a designated location; the C64's "Space Taxi" was started in 1984.
They already included maps that were more intricate than the "Caving Missions" category.
Lander
Games that aim to land on a designated place while controlling the falling aircraft.
A category of historical significance that became a hit in the 1970s,
it influenced the 1982 arcade game "Gravitar" (the ancestor of the "Thrust" genre of games).
However, we will only be dealing with titles that do not allow you to rotate your aircraft (clockwise or counterclockwise).
Choplifter
Games where you defeat enemies in a spacious map that scrolls back and forth.
Their ancestor was the "Choplifter", which was released for the Apple II in 1982,
but they are similar to the 1980 arcade "Defender", that is a genuine STG genre, which maps are not complicated.
So they are far from the purpose of this site, which is to make your own machine work accurately at the dot level,
and they are not covered on this page.

Description:

Background color of "Released for:" column depends on how difficult to load the game on retro consoles.
Amiga, ZX Spectrum and MSX games can be loaded on CD32+FDD. (Details for Amiga games and ZX Spectrum games)
GB & SMS freeware and snapshot files of ZX Spectrum 48k can be loaded on SNES+AD Adapter(White version). (Details)
Except for them, we have to use the console which the game was originally designed for.
Note: "SpaceCat" needs original BIOS for MSXAdvance.( Choose "Ascii8k" for mapper.)

Levels: It shows how many levels in total.
PW: Password is available? (Yes / no) ......"Select" means you can restart the game from any level (not as cheat).
Continue: Continue system is available after your all lives run out? (Yes / no) ..."Free" means you can continue unlimitedly.
Lives: It means how many lives you have till you get "Game Over" or "Continue" screen?
Ctrl: Control complexity based on this site. Don't confuse it with the difficulty completing the game. See below:
I
To make your character move to the right/left, just press right/left of the direction pad.
II
You can rotate around the Y-axis(horizontally). It would be relatively easy to turn.
III
You can rotate around the Y-axis(horizontally), however, it would be relatively difficult.
If depressing force of your left thumb is relatively small, your character would just move forward / backward without turning.
If depressing force of your left thumb is relatively big, your character would turn right/left immediately even if it wouldn't be your intention.
Tag: "Esp" tag means that it is nearly impossible for a normal human to complete the game without cheating /saving state.
If you think you're the chosen one, go ahead!

===================================================================================
Exclusion:
1. Following Amiga titles never work on 020 system, so they would not be listed until anyone complete WHDLoad slaves:
    "Escape from Jovi", "Galactic Taxi"
2. Following Amiga titles never work on CD32+FDD system, so they would not be listed:
"watchNplay" (It contains 2 workbench games of this genre, "ColorLander" and "Spaceascii".)
3. Following game are not listed yet because I don't have enough information (not tested).
    "Space Cab"(Amiga in 1991)
4. We never list Windows / modern consoles/smart phones titles even if they're well-done freeware.
It is because we are interested in only games which we can play on our retro consoles.
If you're OK even if you cannot play the game on your retro consoles, don't miss out.
