Beyond: The Gate of Charon

Release:
"MSX Magazine" Aug. 1990 Issue

Each checksum is as follows (using version 3.1 coded by the "MSX•FAN" team).
The checksums of the lines #100~#690 have been omitted because the program itself tells you typos in those lines after you RUN this file.
beyond1-checksum
Sorry if there are any typos, however, I've tested my data and had no problems.

For Amiga CD32 + FDD users:

You can play this game with AmiMSX, however, AmiMSX can't draw the moons correctly because it can't "PAINT" in the screen5 mode.
Try another emulator or real machine. Boot your MSX and type the following, first.
beyond1-create-data
"BEYOND1M.BIN"(the correct moons data) will be created on the same diskette.
Then modify the code as below. (Now you can use AmiMSX.)
beyond1-amimsx
beyond1-screens
The moment an enemy is killed, the game stops for a moment if CPU is 020. The sounds are a bit glitchy.

The 1st file named "BEYOND21.BAS":

Sorry if there are any typos, however, I've tested my data and had no problems.
After run this file, it creates "BEYOND2.OBJ" on the same diskette automatically.

The 2nd file named "BEYOND22.BAS":

Delete the pointless "W" in the line #150 as below.
beyond2-2nd-file-line150
If you modify the code as described above, each checksum will change as follows (using version 3.1 coded by the "MSX•FAN" team).
beyond2-2nd-file-checksum
Sorry if there are any typos, however, I've tested my data, including the ending, and had no problems.
Make sure that "BEYOND2.OBJ" has been created on the same diskette.
Then RUN this file. The title screen would be loaded immediately.

Joystick support:

The game originally supports joystick, but you can modify the line #120.
...IFSTRIG(1)=-1THEN40ELSE120
Hold Trigger 1 at the ending screen. You can play the game from the beginning again.

For Amiga CD32 + FDD users:

You can play this game with AmiMSX, however, AmiMSX can't draw the moons & planet correctly because it can't "PAINT" in the screen5 mode.
Try another emulator or real machine. Boot your MSX and type the following, first.
beyond2-2nd-file-create-data
Press Trigger 1 or SPACE at the title screen. "BEYOND2E.BIN"(the correct ending screen data) will be created on the same diskette.

The sounds are a bit glitchy, though.
For 020 users, it may hang up due to the PLAY statement if you try to restart the game after having the ending scene displayed for a number of minutes.
