A Knight in the Forest

Trigger1: Heal your HP using oil.

The game:

Chopo, the robot, went home from the robot kindergarten in good health today.
He was hungry, so he took a shortcut through the forest, but knights in the forest mistook him for a lumberjack and locked him in.
Chopo has to get out of this forest while defeating knights.

...First of all, I would like to tell you.
If you are interested in RPG made by Mr. Igarashi, I highly recommend his later work, "Niwatori Roman".
In this game, how many encounters it takes to get the oil, and how many encounters it takes to make the oil go bad, are all predetermined.
For example, after killing an enemy twice, you will always get oil.
The game claims to be a dungeon game where defeating enemies will open the way, but there is no need to explore.
So even if you have a number of battles at the starting point, you will still get the ending.
If you are fascinated with Mr. Igarashi, then there is no particular reason for me to stop you.

Each checksum is as follows (using version 3.1 coded by the "MSX•FAN" team).

Sorry if there are any typos, however, I've tested my data, including the ending, and had no problems.
For the first time, type following, not "RUN" only.
RUN 1320
"FO-MAPD.BIN" would be created on the same diskette automatically. Then RUN.

My suggestions for English version:

If we modify the code as described above, each checksum will change as follows.
Fully tested!

For CD32+FDD users:
You can play this game with AmiMSX, however, AmiMSX causes graphical issues.
Furthermore, AmiMSX cannot enlarge sprites.

For SNES+AD Adapter users:
Unfortunately MSXAdvance cannot load this game. It doesn't show even the title screen.

For modern emulator users:
It may be hard to control your main character that called "Chopo" if you use "blueMSX" or "yayaMSX" series.
Either redefine Joystick's D-pad to any keys other than directional keys, or delete one of "STICK(0)XORSTICK(1)".
"STICK(0)XORSTICK(1)" is in the line #80.

Joystick support:

"STICK(0)" is found in the line #280.
"STRIG(0)" is found in the line #210. The quickest way is to simply replace each "0" with "1".   In addition, it recommends to modify following lines.
joystick-for-bubble
screen-bubble Now you can press D-pad left, up or right to select the level.

Trigger1: OK,   Trigger2: Cancel

Original Japanese version:

Each checksum is as follows (using version 3.1 coded by the "MSX•FAN" team).

Sorry if there are any typos, however, I've tested my data, including the ending, and had no problems.

My suggestions for English version:

Note: It seems that Japanese words in the lines #730 & #1505 don't appear in the game, so you may not have to enter them.
In addition, it strongly recommends to modify the line #1280 as below to fix the color of "forest".

If you modify the code as described above, each checksum will change as follows.

  I tested this modified data,
including the ending, and had no problems.
