The game:

You are Black Tinyan, a man who is concerned about the world and wants to create an evil organization to take over the world.
You have studied the ancient books about the existence of an emperor necessary for world domination and have made a startling discovery.
Somehow the emperor, who ruled the entire galaxy some 6 billion years ago, fell asleep 5.6 billion years ago,
but ancient ruins of an island recently discovered in the South Pacific seem to be from the same era.
"The emperor must have slept in those ruins." You feel this way and head for the island.
However, the army of justice had also set up a base there and started to investigate.
You have to make a hideout behind the base and meet the emperor before they do.

Phase 1: The original WIDTH40 version

The 1st file named "AKUNIN1.BAS":

Modify the following lines.
akunin1-width40ver
The lines #3610 & #4210: [FATAL issues] The watchwords offered were different from the actual watchwords required.
The line #50046: [FATAL issues] The key event to meet the emperor did not happen. Furthermore, the fourth weapon was not available.
By the modifications described so far, each checksum changes as follows. (Using version 3.1 coded by the "MSX•FAN" team.)
But this time you can use the modified version called CHECK65K because this file uses 9000s~ lines.

Tips:

• Map:
akunin1-checksum-width40-2nd-file
Your hideout, the starting point, is the place painted black.
The number is the level of the enemy. If your level is 2 or more higher than the enemy's level, you will not be encountered there.
One uppercase letter of the alphabet is where you are told the watchword, and one lowercase letter is where you must say that watchword.
However, at the “D” point, 10 different dummy watchwords are told.
Star marks are places to check, where you can get items or your henchmen will join you.
"!" marks are places to avoid.
The uppercase Arabic numeral means teleporter and its lowercase means teleport destination.
NPCs will swear at you if you meet them, but there is a probability that they will engage in combat.
• In the beginning, it is better to spend money for innkeeper's fees than to add more henchmen.
• The watchword display will disappear in no time. Beware.
• Weapons are difficult to master because they were not originally made for you.
Similarly, some items are useless in Part 1, but the author suggests that you may need them in Part 2.
• If you encounter an enemy of a higher level than you, it is very effective to flee, leaving your boys behind.
• If you can destroy the enemy's HQ, you will get a special 700 EXP.
• There were places where you could not pass without level 3 or higher and places where you could not pass without level 5 or higher,
but in the original version, the placement was reversed and the first one did not make sense.
This color version solves that problem.
• There is no ending scene in this part 1. The object of the game is to meet the emperor and create your save data.
Meeting the emperor will raise your level by 3. However, there is a condition for the emperor to descend.
• Normally, your can leveled up to 5 times by defeating enemies.
However, if you meet the emperor first and your level becomes 8, it is very difficult to raise your level to 9 because the enemies are too strong.
It is better to raise your level to level 6 first and then meet the emperor, but it is also very hard work.
That is if you want to finish the game at level 9!

For reference.
