How to load NES Freeware on SNES (Recommended):
We must buy "AD Adapter(White version)". It uses PocketNES(2012 edition) which can load nes files from micro SD card.
PocketNES was originally coded by Loopy (
).
After that, other coders also involved.Only we have to do is simply copy nes file on your own micro SD card.
Insert that micro SD card to your AD Adapter, then turn your SNES console on.
Choose the game you want to play. The game would be loaded immediately.
Unfortunately some titles are incompatible with 2012 edition.
Next try 2013 edition that has been archived by Dan Weiss, one of authors of "Goomba Color".
Copy ".nes" files to the same folder where "pnesmmw.exe" exists. Doubleclick "pnesmmv.exe".
You can see ".nes" files are shown. Click "Make Rom" button.
"PocketNESMenu.gba" would be created. Copy it your own micro SD card.
If it still doesn't work, use HVCA that was coded by anonymous who owned mc68882.s53.xrea.com (
).Copy ".nes" files to the "add" folder. Doubleclick "merge.bat". Next choose 4 and press Enter key.
"hvca.bin" would be created. Change its header as like "Dangerous Xmas".
Rename it (don't forget to rename its extension ".gba") and copy it your own micro SD card.
After turn on your SNES, choose "Def" and "Tap". Then it shows titles' list.
I've defined "loading difficulty" on SNES+AD Adapter(White version) like following:

How to load NES Freeware on CD32+FDD:
There are several emulators that load NES games, however, for CD32+Analogic FDD users,
first try "CoolNESs" coded by Fredrik Olsson (
) in 1997-1999. This emulator
would be faster than "darkNESs" mentioned below.The latest version of "CoolNESs" is V0.78, however, there are fewer titles that are compatible with V0.78 for unknown reason.
So I think it's OK if we use previous V0.76.
Here's example of diskette version of "CoolNESs":
Don't make that diskette unwritable. First, insert that CoolNESs disk, then turn your CD32 on.
Close "annoying window". When you run CoolNESs for the first time, click "Prefs" tab.

Make
sure that it specifies "Roms" as "ROM dir". Choose "Joystick 1" for "P1". If your CD32 is NTSC version, choose "NTSC". Click "File" tab and "Load" button, then choose a nes file you want to play. If you haven't expanded FAST RAM, it would be able to load up to 512KB sized file. |
It you come across the game that is incompatible with CoolNESs, next try "darkNESs" coded by Mark Van Hal (
)
in 1997-1999.Here's example of diskette version of "darkNESs":

First,
insert that darkNESs disk, then turn your CD32 on. NTSC CD32 users should make that diskette writable. It is because the program switches from PAL to NTSC and overwrites "darkNESs.prefs" automatically. Click "Load" button. Type df0: in "drawer" box and choose a ".nes" file you want to load. Click "Start" button. The game would be loaded soon. Cons: • It would be extremely sluggish on MC68EC020 system ( less than 10 FPS ). • Unfortunately it is for keyboard only. • The 2nd+ players are disabled. ( You can't play the game like "Super PAK PAK". ) |
Note:
If the game cannot be loaded / showed correctly, try other emulators (e.g. "ANES PRO" that was coded by Morgan Johansson
).For example, "Driar" is compatible with ANES PRO, not coolNESs / darkNESs.
"ANES PRO" requires 4MB Fast RAM at least, and more sluggish than "darkNESs".
There are much fewer games that are compatible with "AmiNES" / "ANES" / "ANES PRO", though!
